MUDC O-week stall

Welcome to those new to University of Melbourne. For the clubs and societies day of O-Week why not come on down to the MUDC stall and learn what our club is all about. Since we are associated with the sports association our stall is with other sports clubs on North Court.

So to see us come to North Court next to Union House. (the North side of Union house that is.)
12:00pm-4:00pm Thursday 25th February.

MUDC has a strong focus on partnered* dancing, especially in a social context. We encourage members to be involved in dance socially via our socials, dance camp and Dinner Dance. We also give our members an opportunity to earn medals for their dancing (similar to doing grades on musical instruments) as well as support those who wish to compete.

The styles taught within the club include Street Latin, Bachata, Latin, Ballroom (also known as Modern), New Vogue, Swing and Go-Go. Most of these styles have sub-styles, as listed on our Info: Styles page.

*Our Go-Go class this semester is an exception to the rule.

Hello Happy Dancers! Melbourne University Dancesport Club is pleased to introduce two BRAND NEW dance classes to our timetable this semester! **Dance of the Semester: Go-Go dancing class** 1-2pm Mondays, Black Hole Room �Go-Go dancing was popular during the 1960�s and 70�s and in this class you�ll learn classic retro dance moves including the Twist, the Hustle, the Monkey, Funky Disco, Saturday Night Fever and the Bus Stop. Go-Go is fun and energetic and these classes will provide you with heaps of new moves to impress your friends on the dance floor! The Go-Go class is free for the first week of semester, so bring your friends and come give it a go-go!� **Social Class** 12-1pm Fridays, Des Connor Room �This class combines Latin, Street Latin, Ballroom and New Vogue into one class and focuses on teaching moves you can use on the social dance floor. No previous dance experience is necessary. Dances may include Waltz, Cha Cha Cha, Salsa, Jive, Merrilyn, Quickstep and others. Passion Dance Studio 2010 Summer Short Course

During January and February Passion Dance Studio are having short summer courses in Bellydance, Breakin, Hip-Hop, House, Jazz, Funk, LA / Commercial Hip Hop, Latin, New Jazz, Commercial Jazz, Nightclub dance, Salsa, Poppin and Lockin.

Classes start from the week 12th January and continue weekly for 4 to 6 weeks. For details see the Passion Studio website.

Hello lovely dancers, How is everyone? Done with exams I hope? Anyway.... Christmas is just around the corner and what better way to get rid of all the exam gathered anxiety than through some toe tapping music and lovely company at the Christmas Social? When?: 30th November 2009, Monday Where?: Grand Buffet Hall. Union house! Theme?: "Children's Book Christmas" - Think toys, traditions and fairy tales! Time?: 6.30pm - 9.30pm Fee?: What fee? IT'S FREEEEEEEEE!!!!! Yummy finger food and drinks will also be served! All dance styles will be hitting the dance floor! So Come one come all! Not an event you'd want to miss ;p Hohoho! Dear MUDC members, This is a reminder that the club is having its Annual General Meeting this Friday, 30th October 2009, 5:30pm at the Cricket Pavillion*. Here are the reasons why you should come: 1. We will be voting on the newly revised constitution, available at http://mudc.org.au/mudcfiles/MUDC-Constitution-Revision-2009-1.pdf 2. You are interested in joining the committee for next year. In that case, the constitution also contains brief descriptions of various committee positions and duties. 3. You just want to have a say in shaping your favourite club 4. Uncollected Medals

Hello Members, medals from first and second semester are now ready for collection from classes. Many have been picked up already but we still have medals from several individuals for collection. You can pick these medals up in our Street Latin, Latin, Ballroom and New Vogue classes, or by arrangement with a committee member. If anyone has any questions then please do not hesitate to ask. Beginners Street Latin Replacement Class
